Inspection & Reporting
- A lot of care, experience and technology goes into our diagnostic inspections – and our reporting.
- All inspections include a comprehensive visual inspection – including cavities where possible – and moisture assessment.
- We may recommend undertaking air and/or surface sampling to determine the extent and type of mould contamination present.
- Our reports are detailed and include our findings, recommendations for treatment and an itemised quote; all supported with photographs, moisture readings and (if relevant) laboratory results.
Killing Mould
- Mould that can't be physically removed, needs to be killed – or at least prevented from multiplying further.
- In hard-to-reach places like roof, wall and sub-floor cavities, where removal is sometimes not practical, we use a unique process called chlorine dioxide gassing to permanently damage the cell walls of the mould spores inside these cavities. The process leaves no residual toxicity behind and is safe for humans and pets once completed.
- Where chlorine dioxide gassing is not needed or can't be undertaken, we kill or de-activate spores with a very sophisticated long-lasting antifungal that uses proven silane "quat" technology.
Removing Mould
- To meet ANSI/IICRC S520 standards, we remove all visible mould through HEPA vacuuming & hand cleaning, ensuring proper containment (with negative pressure) to reduce the spread of disturbed mould spores. In some cases we may recommend a deep clean be undertaken.
- If mould has permeated building materials, curtains or blinds, carpets, upholstered furniture or personal items to the extent that they cannot be salvaged, then these items are carefully removed and safely disposed of.
- Where building materials and/or carpeting have been removed, we manage reinstatement so that the property is returned to the condition required by the customer.
Inhibiting Future Mould Growth
- Once our remediation or mitigation treatment is completed, Nanotise applies a unique antifungal treatment (CRX) to either the affected area or the entire building.
- This unique process lays down a microscopic long-lasting, non-toxic, physical protection on all surfaces that inhibits future mould growth.
- We also suggest practical steps that can be taken by occupants or owners to reduce the chances of mould returning. This includes improved ventilation practices, regular use of dehumidifiers, repairs to roofs, drainage systems, etc. We may also recommend regular follow up inspections and/or preventative maintenance treatments with CRX.
