Inspection & Reporting
- We invest a lot of care, experience, time and technology into our inspections and reporting, as it's important to get the diagnosis right.
- Our inspections include a comprehensive visual inspection and a moisture assessment, to help determine what has caused the mould to grow. We include ceiling, wall and sub-floor cavity inspections whenever this is practically possible.
- If necessary, we recommend air and/or surface sampling to determine the extent and type of mould contamination present. Air sampling is of particular importance when vulnerable people may be exposed to elevated concentrations of mould through inhalation. All samples are sent to an independent laboratory for analysis.
Killing Mould
- Mould that can't be physically removed, needs to be killed – or at least have its spore cell walls disrupted, so they can't multiply further.
- In hard-to-reach places like ceiling cavities, wall cavities and sub-floor spaces, where removal is sometimes not practical, we use a unique process called chlorine dioxide gassing to permanently damage the cell walls of the mould spores inside these cavities. This highly effective, fast-acting treatment leaves no residual toxicity behind and, once complete, is safe for reoccupation. Gassing can provide the foundation for a long-term solution to serious mould and bacterial contamination.
- Where chlorine dioxide gassing is not needed or can't be undertaken, we undertake treatment with biocides, Hospital Grade antibacterials and a long-lasting antifungal.
Removing Mould
- To meet the ANSI/IICRC S520 standard, we remove all visible & accessible mould through hand cleaning, and as much invisible mould as possible through HEPA vacuuming.
- If mould has permeated building materials, curtains or blinds, carpets, upholstered furniture or personal items to the extent that they cannot be salvaged through cleaning, then these items are typically removed and safely disposed of.
- Where building materials and/or carpeting has been removed, we manage the process of reinstatement so that the office or other commercial space is returned to an acceptable condition.
Inhibiting Future Growth
- To complete the job, Nanotise applies a unique antifungal treatment (CRX) to either the affected area or the entire building. This process lays down long-lasting, non-toxic, physical protection on all surfaces that inhibits future mould growth.
- We also suggest practical steps that can be taken by tenants or owners to reduce the chance of mould returning. This includes improved ventilation practices, possible use of dehumidifiers, repairs to roofs, plumbing, etc.
- In situations where there is likely to be an ongoing moisture issue, we recommend regular follow up inspections and/or maintenance CRX fog treatments.
