    Mould Removal in South Coogee

    The Challenge

    Moisture Trapped Beneath the Floor

    Coastal homes sit in persistently high humidity, with salt-laden air that holds moisture against finishes and condensation that often concentrates around large glazing.     Once humidity settles under a floor finish, the covering itself becomes part of the problem. The work has to open that layer to the slab so contamination can be taken out of the building, not locked in under a new surface.

    Our Approach

    From Assessment to a Contained Strip-Out

    The approach followed the same logic we apply across residential remediation: establish the true extent of the problem first, contain the work zone, remove what cannot be left in place, then clean thoroughly so the space is ready for reinstatement.

    Mould inspection and assessment — Before any covering was lifted, we inspected the area to determine the real extent of contamination and which materials were affected. A clear picture of what sat under the floor finish guided what needed to come out and what could remain.
    Containment and floor stripping — We established containment with plastic and tape, protected contents and access routes, then lifted the floor covering down to the slab. That exposed the affected material so it could be addressed at source rather than treated through the finish.
    Mould removal — Affected materials — including floor covering, tack strips and joinery — were removed, wrapped and sealed inside the contained zone before being taken out of the work area. Exposed surfaces were then treated as part of the remediation.
    Cleaning — Once removal was complete, we cleaned the treated zone and the exit routes used to remove material. The space was left ready for the client to reinstate new flooring.

    The outcome was practical rather than cosmetic: the under-floor contamination was taken out of the property, the rest of the home was kept protected during the works, and the stripped area was left clean for reinstatement.
